CMA Dr. Dhananjay V. Joshi completed graduation in commerce from well known Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce, Pune. He was a student of ILS Law College, Pune and graduated himself as L.L.B. and later on obtained Masters Degree in Commerce from Pune University. He is also a fellow member of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
SP Pune University conferred on him Doctorate of Philosophy, for his thesis on “An assessment of Cost Audit as a Tool for Performance Measurement, Evolution & Evaluation of Cost Audit System in India since Inception” in the year 2014.
He started his career as a practicing Cost Accountant immediately after getting qualified in the year 1979 and founded Dhananjay V. Joshi Associates, a firm of practicing CMAs in 1991.
He was the President of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India for the term 2006-07.
In the Golden Jubilee National Convention of ICAI at Commemoration function His Excellency Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India, felicitated CMA Dr. Dhananjay V. Joshi for his outstanding contribution to the profession of Cost and Management Accounting.
CMA Dr. Dhananjay V. Joshi initiated the formation of “Technical Advisory Board” of the ICAI and was the first chairman of this Board. He was a nominee member on the Accounting Standard Board of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He was also a founder member of the First Cost Accounting Standard Board of ICAI and was its member for almost a decade.
CMA Dr. Dhananjay V. Joshi has actively led and completed various Research Projects carried out by the Institute having social & economic significance such as Cost of Medical Education, Power Tariff Fixation, Projects for Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Ministry of Finance etc.
He is renowned Management Consultant and associated with many MNCs in varied Industrial sectors. He has conducted many training programs and has delivered lectures in National & International seminars & conferences, both in India and abroad. In addition to this he has presented various papers in Seminars and written articles in Journals.
He is sharing his rich experience through writing Books.
All these Books are published by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
He has authored book titled “Cost & Management Accounting Profession in India – A Reminiscence” which is a unique reference book for the growth of Accounting & Cost Accounting Profession in India and the journey of the ICAI in last six decades.
He is renowned Management Educationist. As a visiting faculty in Management Institutes, he taught Post Graduation courses for a long period. He is Managing Trustee & Secretary of Yeshwant Education Services, Shirpur- A trust devoted to education in rural Maharashtra.
He is involved in a wide range of social activities. He was the Promoter Director of Sahyadri Hospitals Ltd, a multi super specialty hospital. He is also on the board of number of other charitable and educational trusts and companies.
